Tenant testimonies and a petition drive convinced the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors to allow the project to move forward so that 56 studios would be built for folks living in residential hotels. This successful organizing will come to fruition on October 15th when the "Sister Bernie Galvin Residence" opens at 7th and Brannan Street. To inquire about moving into this new affordable housing development, please contact the Central City SRO Collaborative at 775-7110.

Current Campaigns

Save the Civic Center Hotel!

Tenants in SROs and low-cost apartments are being threatened with demolition and eviction as landlords try to increase profits by building more expensive apartments that are not rent controlled.
